Subject: Peter Falk As A Charlies Manson Prototype For Beatnicks
Just so you all know this is the edited version (the scene where the kid is shown eating the laced hamburger is missing - it comes right after he enters the apartment and before the scene with his brother in his room). This film and The Mask (1963) in partial 3-D were the directors only films. Saw a pristine print of this some years ago and while it's hampered by an extremely low budget it has a nasty edge to it. The photography elicits a claustrophobic and barren atmosphere. Which reflects the characters in the film perfectly. It's Peter Falk's acting which raises this up from its skid row surroundings. He gives this clean-cut, intelligent and yet deranged performance that seems to mirror the real life Charles Manson's mannerisms years later. If you don't expect much you just might like it. I recommend it as the second feature on a double bill with a Bucket Of Blood (1959).

Subject: Great
While the charming reviewer torgman, if that is his real name, thinks it's a good thing Peter Falk has Alzheimer's, & the delightful SonOfChaos seems to be hung up on some demons from his past, I actually really liked this film.

I'd love to see a remake with some "Frat boy" "Bro" types in place of the beatniks. That would be even >!

I was just shy of putting ice picks through my ears cause of the dialogue of this film was so bad. This stereotype of beatniks is SOOOOOO over the top and ridiculous that I simply could not stand it. This film was simply awful.

Wow, like this flick was the most, man.
The band in the club was very good. The acting, great.
I couldn't stop thinking that this is Charley Manson's father in action.
Very good movie. Please watch it, and thank you whom ever submitted it.
